I have had a long-time love affair with screen printing. It started in school and I still have the silk screen I got in about year 9. I confess I have never been very good at it but its something I have always wanted to do more of. So recently I made a couple of simple designs and printed them onto some cotton fabric.

After a delay of about 7 years (what on earth happened there?) I am finishing off the tutorial on how to appliqué! Part one is here and part two can be read here. The most amazing thing of this all is that I still have the little singlet that I was using in this series!
In part two of this tutorial I showed you how to use iron-on Vliesofix (the stuff that makes your fabric stick to Rachaelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08573991998853561283noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1242658043497764443.post-19387999956888125022010-09-03T16:17:00.003+10:002010-09-03T16:45:54.942+10:00...Even with a few tears she looks gorgeous. I pour over the pages fantasising about long and involved dishes with time consuming sauces or desserts that take hours and many pints of cream to prepare. Then I make the list of practical, fast(ish) and varied meals that we will actually be having. We ate homemade ANZAC's, jam drops, afghans, and melting moments. And we ate cornflake and sultana biscuits, kiss biscuits and my mothers outstanding shortbread. Although I loved them all, sometimes I got a little envious of the girls at school with their perfect looking machine made biscuits. Minnie is very excited about Christmas this year, which in turn has made the Blue House feel a little Christmas crazy - its hard not to get drawn into the high excitement and anticipation oozed by an almost 4 year old.So to start the festive season off, here is Edith the Helpful Elf.Edith is one of Rachaelhttp://www.blogger.com/profile/08573991998853561283noreply@blogger.com6tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-1242658043497764443.post-8966371778103767612009-01-13T07:40:00.007+11:002009-01-13T08:20:39.681+11:00I sew, I really do (2)... The gorgeous Robbie modelling a new outfitYou may not believe me given the lack of evidence posted in recent times here on this blog. But I do sew, I really do.
